In true Lady fashion, my 30th birthday celebrations finally came to a close this week (four months after my actual birthday!) when we saw Taylor Swift in concert at the O2. The tickets were a gift from our good friend Martin (who always spoils us) and what an awesome night out it turned out to be, so much so that it has definitely topped the list at being my Highlight of the Week!
Taylor Swift was simply fabulous. Her album Red is brilliant and to see it performed live was amazing. The show was jam packed with glitz and energy with stunning outfits (Hollywood Glamour & her 18th Century Romance dresses were my favourite!) There was even a surprise guest performance with the gorgeous Ellie Goulding who sang Burn with Taylor- it was brilliant!
As much as I enjoyed the Princess of Pop herself, I was also mesmerised by her adoring fans. Their love and dedication for her was something I haven't seen in a long time. Their costumes and creativity with their banners was unbelievable (they actually had lights on their signs!) and it was really touching to see how much her music meant to them.
Myself on the other hand, did what any other 30 year old at a concert on on a school night would do and drank copious amounts of wine. I spent the following day literally dying and regretting every "yes please" to every drink offered that night. What was I thinking? But aside from my shameful drunken skunk antics and the failed moment in meeting my idol- we had an excellent time. Our seats were amazing (Martin is the King when it comes to concert tickets) and we danced the night away...at one point my enemy Pinot, took over and I started doing some crazy head flipping to I Knew You Were Trouble...oh the shame...!
Ah my little bro...Tom!
Thank you Martin...best birthday present! x
I don't know how I didn't manage to fall overboard on the Clipper...!
Thank you Emily for getting me home safely...I owe you one!
Thank you so much to Martin for a brilliant belated birthday gift...you rock!
What was your Highlight of the Week?
Until next time,
With Love & Taylor Swift,
