This weekend was Mum’s birthday and having made no plans for the afternoon, I decided to take her out for lunch by the river with a little shopping thrown in for good measure. It’s been a while since we’ve enjoyed a spontaneous afternoon. With no time restraints and no pressures, simply a guilt free afternoon, mooching and enjoying each others company. As we sipped a celebratory bottle of wine, overlooking the rain hitting the river in Kingston, I knew then that this afternoon would be the Highlight of the Week for me. I love spending time with this doughnut…
I definitely get my dippy side from Mum. She cracks me up and when we are together, the dippy-ness doubles. But if there’s another side of Mum that I hope to inherit one day, it’s her selflessness and thoughtfulness. She never fails to amaze me when it comes to being there for her children. At the slightest sign of needing her- she’s there, no questions, no complaints, she’s just there, doing what she’s done so amazingly well for the last thirty years. Being the best Mum anyone could hope for. Thank you for a lovely afternoon and sharing your birthday with moi…Happy Birthday Ma- our superstar.
Until next time,
With Love & Superstar Ma,
