Review: October Birchbox

Back by popular demand…ah-hem. OK so not by popular demand, but my gorgeous in laws gifted me a six month Birchbox subscription, so I thought it the perfect opportunity to revive one of my favourite beauty features and I couldn’t have started again with a better box. With October being ‘ Breast Cancer Awareness Month’, Birchbox, working in partnership with CoppaFeel, put together a gorgeous box full of pink loveliness, including tips on how to give your boobs that all important once over. Go on…have a feel…!

Benefit It’s Potent! Eye Cream (£25.50) is set to banish dark circles and smooth fine lines around our precious eyes. I’m yet to discover a Benefit product that isn’t amazing. With it’s light and creamy texture, it leaves my under eyes feeling smooth and soft. Like most eye creams, only time will tell if they’ve worked their magic, keeping those wrinkles at bay for as long as possible, but with a brand like Benefit, you know you are getting something extra special and I reckon this little pot of gold dust wont let me down. You gotta love Benefit. Miss Enchanting’s Beauty Verdict: 4/5

Shaveworks (£11.00) a cooling gel lotion to treat ingrown hairs, razor bumps and redness after hair removal. How lovely. So as coincidence would have it, I spent the morning being tortured in the bikini department in prep for this weekends little dip in a hot tub, so on my return home I thought I’d give this little bad boy a trial. Holy cow…it stung my private areas like an absolute b***h! Soothe? More like sore head from hitting the ceiling after applying it! Pass me the Savlon…I’ll be keeping this little bottle of pain for absolute emergencies only….! Miss Enchanting’s Beauty Verdict: 1/5

KMS California Hair Play Dry Wax (£15.00) a spray to add that ‘second day’ texture to freshly washed hair with a matte finish. This product is perfect for people who hate that freshly washed-fly-away-hair and need a little something to thicken up the ends. It’s a cross between a Sea Salt Spray and hairspray, so I wouldn’t go overboard with it and avoid your roots unless you want that just-washed-but-looks-like-I-ran-out-of-shampoo-a-week-ago-look. Miss Enchanting’s Beauty Verdict: 2/5

Pixi By Petra Shea Butter Lip Balm (£8.00) a moisturising lip balm with shea butter and a hint of rouge…who doesn’t love a lip balm? I’m lip balm obsessed and this little beauty will make a fine addition to my ever growing collection. Miss Enchanting’s Beauty Verdict: 3/5

RMK Eyeshadow (£20.00) a silky, long-lasting eyeshadow in a beautifully presented chic and stylish packaging. If you’re looking for a high-end treat for your eye-lids then this is it. I was a little unsure that this shade ‘chocolate’ would suit, but it can be blended and applied to achieve your personal preference and I love it. Miss Enchanting’s Beauty Verdict: 4/5

I was super excited to receive this month’s box and aside from a sting in the hoohah, I will pretty much use every product, but my top pick for purchase would have to be the Benefit It’s Potent! Eye Cream. With Benefit, you know you are getting a good product that is always worth the investment.

Have you tried and tested any of this month’s products?

Until next time,
