A few weeks ago I was invited to attend an uber cool event- Vogue’s Fashion Night Out with Superdry at their Regents Street store. Sadly I was unable to attend the event at the last minute. Boo.
The event looked amazing which hasn’t eased the pain of missing out on it. Guests were treated to an exclusive showcase of Superdry’s new autumn/winter collection whilst a new up and coming band, The Fireflies, performed live throughout the evening. The special guest of the evening was MTV’s Lilah Parsons, who selected her personal faves from the new collection and was on hand to offer her styling tips and trends. Fab stuff…so gutted I wasn’t there. Sad face.
But to cheer me up Superdry very kindly offered to send me an item from their awesome new collection to review. Amazeballs, I know. I was literally spoilt for choice with their soft knits, winter warming hoodies, leather jackets and of course, a cosy range of cool coats. The temperature may still be refusing to drop, but as soon as it does I’ll be ready for it (‘as snug as bug in a rug’ as my Nanna still says) in new Superdry Hooded Super Wind Parka. Oh yes…bring on the pants weather.
Living in the UK our winter coats get more wear than our flips flops unfortunately, so it’s always a good idea to invest in one that will see you through from October to April (remember last year when it was still snowing in April…ugh!) and my new blizzard proof coat will do just that- and more if I’m planning a trip up Everest any time soon. OK, so it might have one too many zips, (six…! Most people (me) struggle to do up one!) but it’s all part of the “triple-layer two-way zip fastening”. There is no way anything is getting through this bad boy…I could probably wear it to space.
Inside is lined with soft sheepskin effect fleece which will keep me snug when the winter air finally kicks in…or slightly sweating when the weather treats us to one of those freezing mornings that turn into a balmy afternoon! I chose the charcoal/cream version of the coat, (it also comes in black and navy blue) which is perfect for me as it will pretty much compliment everything in my everyday casual wardrobe.
Clothing reviews are new to the blog and there’s only so many photos I can get away with having my living room carpet as a backdrop, so I called in a little favour from a friend of mine to take some photographs of me actually wearing the coat. I think it was the first time I’ve ever been camera shy if I’m honest (not that anyone will believe that!) but I felt a little silly to be showing off an item of clothing when you’re not entirely body confident. But I soon got into the swing of things and I’m pleased with how they turned out, so thank you Rachel! You can see more of our mini photo shoot over on my vlogging channel.
Until next time,
With Love & Windproof Warmers,
