A Weekend At Warmwell Holiday Park…

Sometimes you just need to get away from normal life.

No rushing or screaming that we’re late. Away from the housework and endless loads of washing.

OK, so there’s always some element of screaming and cleaning up crap involved because let’s face it, this is parenting after all. But spending some time together in a more relaxed atmosphere is something that we all need every now and again.

Holidays have pretty much been off the cards since we had babies.  Oh and bought a house that would consume every spare penny (and the rest) that we earn. With the Hubster working two jobs to keep us afloat, spending time together as a family is rare and precious. But whenever we get the chance, and the money, we really love to visit our friend’s lodge at Warmwell Holiday Park, Dorset.

It’s about a 2.5-hour drive from when we are in Surrey so it’s not too long a journey with a baby and a toddler. We’ve visited the lodge three times now and we absolutely love it. Elsie calls it our “mini holiday” and I love nothing more than creating lovely family memories here.

The Lodge

My friend’s lodge is beautiful. A luxury three-bedroomed lodge situated in a woodland setting. Boasting a large stunning, open-planned kitchen-diner-lounge, with two bathrooms, private parking and complimentary Wi-fi. It’s fully kitted out with all of the home comforts and amenities that you could possibly hope for when away, giving the Lodge a five-star home-from-home feel.

The interior decor is gorgeous. But it still oozes family and comfort which is really important when staying with your littles. You want there to be some elements of style but you also need to be able to breathe. We, of course, do a little recce and move anything that we wouldn’t want the girls to touch or break, just as we would in our own home. But overall we feel super relaxed and welcomed at the Lodge and so do our girls.

It’s spacious, light, bright and airy. Complimenting the family area are large floor to ceiling windows and patio doors which lead out onto a large decking area which is just fabulous for BBQ’s, drinks or chilling with the family outside.

From the moment we walk into the Lodge, we feel at ease and ready to start our break away.

The Park

When stepping out of the Lodge, (which I’ll be honest, we don’t do much because we love being in it so much) there are loads of things to do to keep the family entertained. Fishing lakes, two play parks, an indoor swimming pool with a wave machine and slides. A large soft-play, a disco roller rink, tenpin bowling, multi-sports park, dry-slope skiing, nature trail and crazy golf. There is also family entertainment in the evening with a kids club and evening bingo and shows. Plus a mini-supermarket, bar, restaurant, Costa, and take away fish and chips all on site!

We also love visiting the coast during our stay at Warmwell. Lulworth Cove, part of the Jurassic Coast, is exactly 20 minutes away which is beautiful and perfect for fresh air, walks, seafood and stone skimming! We’ve also driven to Portland Bill too which was great for exploring the coast and seeing a lighthouse up close.
