About Me

Hello & Welcome to my blog…

My life in a nutshell so far…I wanted to be an actress (failed miserably, but then I never really tried), was then rejected from the circus (error on my part but still a kick in the teeth), started a wedding planning business and planned a zillion events and weddings (all successful but were hard work). I then trained to be a drama teacher (because those who can- do and those who can’t- teach. Whatever) and later decided to change career again, (you’ll see a pattern forming) which now largely involves dealing with small humans who have an answer for everything but never fail to make me smile (just call me Mary bleedin’ Poppins)

The first highlight of my life came when I fell head over heels in love with  (a very) tall,  blonde, handsome stranger outside Specsavers on Easter Sunday at 3am back in 2005. We eventually moved in together (much to the relief of my parents- honestly they thought they had a real life Bridget on their hands at one point). In 2012, he surprised me with a long awaited proposal, flash forward ten months of planning stress, (the wedding planner in me unleashed a whole other kind of Bridezilla!) I married the man of my dreams, who is now referred to as The Hubster.

With our perfect wedding becoming a beautiful, but distant memory, we, of course decided to embark on the next challenge…starting a family. Things were taking longer than we’d hoped and to stop myself turning into a crazed ovulation obsessed mad woman, I needed a distraction. Not being one for knitting or rock climbing, I decided to start The Enchanting Blog (previously named Miss Enchanting until rebranded in January 2016).

After a while we decided to share our Fertility Journey on the blog. As nerve wrecking as this was, it has made the whole process a zillion times easier and has opened up a safe space for others to share their stories, fears and experiences with fertility. It took a lot of patience but we were finally granted our wish and Our Little Bean arrived in August 2015.  Elsie Belle is by far our greatest achievement and our most unpredictable adventure and we couldn’t be more in love.

I’ve spent a considerable amount of time mulling over my niche as a lifestyle blogger. There are so many aspects of life that I love to write about from Book ReviewsGluten Free Foods and Experiences. But my most popular posts usually stem from everyday real life, where I simply need to get something off my chest and have a good old rant, usually involving family and of course now becoming a parent. Perhaps they should have signed some sort of internet restraining order prior to the blog going live. More fool them for making such interesting species that one can’t help but share the details, the love and most importantly the laughter.

Would love to be friends! My husband and I were in the UK last summer (we're Americans) and we would love to go back! Cannot wait to check out your blog further and read about the life of a Brit! And from what I can see, it looks like we have a few things in common!
